About India
Colourful, chaotic and breathlessly beautiful. India is simply incomparable. In this vast country of over a billion people, everything jostles for your attention — an elephant plodding along a dusty street, the swirl of a sari, the drama of an epic religious festival and the exotic scent of spices in a crowded market.
On our small group India tours, you’ll also discover beauty in the country’s diverse scenery — from the snowy Himalayas of the north to the sun-kissed beaches of the south. And in between, you’ll be swept away by India’s energetic cities, picturesque villages and incomparable historic sites, including the iconic Taj Mahal.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you need a visa to travel to India? The majority of travellers require a visa to enter and exit India. The most common and convenient option is to apply online for an e-Tourist visa. These are valid for one year from the date of issue and can be used for a stay of up to 90 days per visit (multiple visits are permitted).
- Is India safe? For the most part, India is a safe country to travel around and overall crime rates are below many western countries. As in many places, travellers are often the targets of petty crimes (such as thefts and pickpocketing), especially on public transport, cities, and in crowded areas. As such, you should take the same precautions you would in your home country.
- When is the best time to visit IndiaOverall, the best time to visit India is between October-March. During these months, the weather is cooler and dry, making it an ideal time to visit tourist sites in areas such as Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. In the south, temperatures are fiercely hot during May and June, so places such as Goa and Kerala are best visited from January-March.
If you’re travelling to the Himalayas, time your visit from March onwards after the snow has begun to melt.
