Tour Leaders for Turkey Tours
To fully understand such a complex and history-rich country, you need the help of an experienced local guide. Paired with your tour leader, you will get detailed information that will help you fully appreciate everything this nation has to offer. Discover the hidden gems of Turkey. Some of our tour leaders who have led these tours.
Rustem Baksoy Rustem has been leading tours for more than 20 years, and he has a wealth of guiding experience in his native Turkey. When he's not on the road, you can find Rustem working as a translator for TV channels, film festivals and publishers. Over the years he has also translated several books into Turkish. Read More
Victor Romagnoli I love the excitement of getting up each morning on a tour and not knowing exactly how a day will unfold. It keeps me on my toes so to speak, and adds a breath of excitement to each day on tour. With almost 30 years of tour leading under my belt, I thank all of you for being a part of this exciting journey. Read More
Yasemin Reis Also a translator, Yasemin has worked for Discovery Channel Turkey, Nippon TV and several film festivals. She has published several articles presenting an anthropological look at the confluences of medicine, medical culture, history, myth, religion and art, in Asklepios: Journal of Medical Culture, Plan B Publications, Istanbul. Read More
Chris Tripodi I travel because it is the most interesting thing I can think of doing between meals. The magic and the challenge of this job is seeing the world itself as the tour with several smaller journeys along the way. I enjoy that time at the end of one trip, before the start of a new one, where the sadness of leaving one place mixes with the excitement of approaching another. Read More
Jonathan Hodgson Jonathan has lived much of his life dedicated to the idea that he would rather have a wealth of experiences than a wealth of riches. Having taken up a nomadic lifestyle shortly after finishing his undergraduate degree, he has been on the move on and off over the last 25+ years. The wanderlust has taken him to basing himself in places such as Scotland, Australia and Uzbekistan, and to visiting many more locations around our planet. Now (sort of) settled in Vancouver with his wonderful (and patient) family, he still loves the idea of having the world as his office and always enjoys trying to capture the essence of the locations he travels and tours in with his photography. Martin Charlton "Don't pack anything that you would be upset to lose, that needs to be ironed, or is encased in glass." - words to live by. Read More

Where to Go
Where To Go on Turkey Tours
Spanning both Asia and Europe, Turkey offers a kaleidoscope of historical sites, beautiful beaches and other places to explore. Relax at the sun-drenched resorts in Turkey's southern shores, lose yourself in the relics of Istanbul or hunt for fresco-adorned caves in Cappadocia. Part of Turkey’s allure is the sheer diversity of what it offers.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
ASK A QUESTION
01. Do you need a visa to travel to Turkey?
Yes, you will need to get a visa when visiting Turkey. The government encourages travellers to get their visas online at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ However, cruise ship passengers are permitted to come ashore without a visa for day visits.
02. Is Turkey safe?
It’s safe to travel to most of Turkey, however, there are a few places you may want to avoid. For example, the city of Diyarbakir in southeastern Turkey, which is considered the unofficial capital of Northern Kurdistan, has been deemed unsafe by many Western governments. Also, you should stay at least 10 kilometres away from the Syria-Turkey border.
03. When is the best time to visit Turkey?
Generally, Turkey’s summers are hot and its winters are cold. So the best time to visit the Aegean & Mediterranean coasts and Cappadocia is from May to September. Istanbul, however, is a year-round destination city. If you plan to do a lot of hiking, April to June typically provide the best outdoor weather.
