In the last post, I introduced Malta’s smaller sister island of Gozo by visiting the many wonders of the Dwejra area along with our Adventures Abroad group led by veteran guide Victor Romagnoli. This will be my final post from the island of Malta which Alison and I visited recently on an Adventures Abroad tour led by veteran guide Victor Romagnoli. In the last post we visited the ancient capital of Mdina. In this post we’ll visit two more of the many must see sites on this amazing little island starting with Mosta which is where a 20th century miracle took place. In the last post from my recent Adventures Abroad trip to Malta led by Victor Romagnoli we began our exploration of the country’s famed Megalithic temples at Hagar Qim. During this visit and later in conducting my own research before writing the post, I learned that there is no archaeological consensus as to the purpose of these most ancient of monuments. Today we are going to visit a site that is shrouded in even more mystery – the mysterious stone markings at Clapham Junction. In the last post our Adventures Abroad group visited the Malta National Museum of Archaeology where we saw some of the artefacts found at the various places that make up the UNESCO World Heritage Site The Megalithic Temples of Malta.
