Focus On Southeast Asia Tours

Southeast Asia tours are popular for good reasons: warm, tropical climate, fascinating, rich cultures, amazing beaches, incredible cuisine, and inexpensive travel costs. Asia is generally quite safe for travellers, even with its complex history and modern politics.

Ha Long Bay Vietnam Southeast Asia

The culture of Southeast Asia has strong influences from India and China, with many people from those countries travelling and settling in countries around the area. Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Burma show the influences of China and India, especially in their folklore, faiths, writing and languages.

Indonesia and Malaysia also show these same influences from India, China, and Malays. They are, however, also influenced by Arab culture, as those countries both have large populations of Muslims. China’s influence is quite visible in Vietnam, while the culture of Brunei is quite is Malay-influenced.

The landscapes in Southeast Asia are incredibly varied, ranging from Laos’ terraced rice paddies, to the imposing pinnacles of limestone of Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, to deep, lush Northern Thailand jungles and wide curves of the Mekong River. While the area may be relatively small geographically, there is incredible diversity in landscapes, flora and fauna.

In addition to the natural beauty of the area, the incredible creations of current and past civilizations are evident, from the sprawling temple complex of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, to the 2,000+ temples on the plains of Bagan, the breathtaking Shwedagon Pagoda stretching 100 metres into the air, and the vast complex of temples at Borobudur in Indonesia. These are just a few examples of this regions incredibly deep historical and cultural legacy.
