Client Testimonials
"This was my 12th tour with Adventures Abroad. I think that speaks for itself. I really enjoyed all of the excursions on this tour we saw some breathtaking scenery in every country we visited. But I really enjoyed hiking up to the Tigers Nest Monastery in Bhutan. I also really liked the spontaneous walks that [Tour Leader] Subash [Tamang] did cant think of a better way to see how the locals live. Both Aili [Rauk] and Subash are excellent tour leaders. They are both very personable, approachable, organized, enthusiastic, have easy-going manners...Aili was very knowledgeable about the culture and history of Nepal and Tibet. Subash seemed to know everyone and everything about the Himalayan countries!"

" Great trip and very much worth the price! We met some lovely people who have travelled with your company many times and they were impressed with both the quality of the trip and the guide in comparison to other tours...Please do keep the numbers down...I will never again go on a 48-passenger style tour after being with Adventures Abroad."

"This was my 8th trip with Adventures Abroad....[Tour Leader] Yvette [Haakmeester] is very outgoing and eager to make the tour members experience as good as possible."

"Hearing about the beauty of the Copper Canyon...I heard originally about Adventures Abroad from a fellow traveller on a Seniors Tour. She said AA was her favourite tour company. This was my 4th tour with you."
↓ Marion R. (Mount Hope, ONT) on Mexico's Copper Canyon Tour
"Enjoyed all of them but especially Kathmandu and Bhutan and Leh. Please comment on your Tour Leader. He [Jonathan Hodgson] was amazing at managing to meet all our needs and handle the different personalities...we were blown over by his depth of knowledge, especially on religion...he made everything so interesting, it made you want to read up on different issues."
↓ Patricia B. (Toronto, ONT) on Kingdoms Of The Himalaya Tour
"Erice was excellent and an excellent day. Dinner resturants that [Tour Leader] Victor [Romagnoli] found were excellent, especially the B&B in Southern Italy.
Please comment on your Tour Leader. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, experienced and passionate about what he does and sharing with others. I understand why a number of the guests only book with Victor. Historical, archeology, architecture AND current conditions as he lives in Europe...all were woven together in a very unique and excellent way."
↓ Shawn C. (Calgary, AB) on Malta Tour
"The tour was an excellent value for the money; we learned a lot about Israel, especially from our local guide, Itzak, who knew a lot about the local floral and fauna, besides the history of the country."
↓ Barbara C. (New York, NY) on Israel Tour
"Gobekli Tepe (not on schedule but when asked, she, [Tour Leader] Yasmin [Reis], took us there willingly). It was sensational to be in an archaeological dig, plus seeing Natl Geo do their stuff while we gawked! Incredible place and so current...Nemrud incredible."
↓ Patricia B. (Chicago, IL) on Turkey Tour
"Jonathan, to us, is the ultimate tour leader. He is resourceful, helpful, friendly and a just plain nice guy. He never seemed to be ruffled, no matter what happened. Requests from fellow travellers sometimes seemed absolutely out of place but Jonathan ALWAYS maintained a positive attitude that allowed for compromises, changes to the schedule and a happy, although sometimes a quite tired group of travellers. Jonathan is first-rate."

↓ Walter G. (Novi, MI) on Tunisia & Malta Tour
"There was nothing that was not of interest in some manner—the history, the castles, Prague Karlovy Vary were good and the river ride on the Dunajec River was fun. The best place for me was Cesky Krumlov...Because of my keen interest in the two countries (Czech Republic and Slovakia), it was more than ideal having a resident of one of those countries as a guide [Ondrej Strejcek]. He discussed past and more recent historical events as well as being a super guide. The right personality."
↓ Bruce B. (Smithers, BC) on Cities Of Wonder Tour
"The Pools of Abraham at Urfa was very interesting. Ephesus, Troy, Pergammon, Perge, and Kusadasi were excellent...[Tour Leader] Yasmin Reis was extremely knowledgeable and informative about both the ancient sites and cultures and modern society and politics. Her background talks were very helpful in putting the sites in context without any excessive or irrelevant detail."
↓ Hugh M. (Cathedral City, CA) on Turkey Tour
"Khiva the hotel even makes you a part of the town, brides all over the place, fantastic scenery. Turkmenistan blew me away... I didnt expect the modern city and the ancient sites...It is hard to beat Registan Square. Lake Issyk-Kul presented us with a sunset, rainbow, and a beautiful orange full-moon rise all within 1 hour!"
↓ Marilyn A. (Chicago, IL) on The Five Stans Tour

"We enjoyed all the excursions. The cherry blossoms were at their peak & were spectacular. As we traveled further south, the azaleas put on a pretty good show too.
Stephen Scrogings did a superb job of giving us the culinary flavor of each city/area visited. The group really appreciated that.
Loved the bullet train. The buses were very comfortable & only one bus smelled from cigarette smoke, but the A/C cleared that up. Boats & taxis were very good & contributed to getting a real feel for the country & its people.
Stephen went out of his way to make sure that everyone was happy. He made sure to spend some one-on-one time with each person in the group during the trip. He did an amazing job of making arrangements for those of us who were continuing to travel in Japan after the tour. He saw everyone off from the hotel & made sure everyone got into their taxi to their destination on the last day."
↓ Stephen R. (New York, US) on Japan By Rail Tour
"All meals exceeded our expectations. We loved the South African restaurant in Mandella Square. Le Canard rivaled the best restaurant we have been to in the U.S. The buffet lunch at Boschendal winery was outstanding. The French restaurant on the last night was wonderful."

"I especially loved the train travel, but was happy everything was arranged for us. The day we went to Hakone was a travel experience par excellence. Good thing our bags were sent ahead. Riding trains, funiculars & ropeways as well as a bus was fun."
↓ Lorraine V. (BC, CA) on Japan By Rail Tour
"Robert Kruse is a young man but he directed the tour with great maturity. He was very knowledgeable, informative & concerned for our safety & comfort. He is an asset to Adventures Abroad.
We enjoyed most of the excursions, but in particular Petra & our trip in the desert by jeep & camel. We enjoyed the sunset & our dinner in the Bedouin tent.
Buses used in both Jordan & Israel were very comfortable. Drivers were punctual & outstanding. Jeeps were rough but that is to be expected, they were fun. The camels too were fun, an experience to remember."
↓ Joseph D. (ON, CA) on Jordan & Israel Tour
"The museums were very good, & of course the ruins of the ancient cities, particularly in Palmyra. The Noria water wheels were very photogenic, & the Grand Bazaar (Souq) in Aleppo is unforgettable.
Helped us find ATM's that worked, physical help for anyone needing it, always available. Ian is one of the best guides I have had on my many trips to foreign countries over many years."

↓ Paul, Ann & Laughlin S. (Mont-Royal QC, CA) on Spain & Morocco Tour
"We wanted a small group tour that emphasized the local flavor of Italy. As this was our first trip to Europe, having a guide was important. I did extensive online research & Adventures Abroad was highly rated by National Geographic.
We always knew when & where to meet & we packed so much into each & every day. We are spoiled & want to tour with Victor Romagnoli again."
↓ Stephen L. (Temecula CA, US) on Northern Italy Tour
"Yvette Haakmeester asked our preferences on a number of things--called ahead & arranged things for people (hammams, fantasias, meals, etc.) I was particularly impressed that, in a country where women can be less assertive than in Canada & the US, she managed to command the respect & cooperation of a wide variety of men of various degrees of surliness.
We had a suite, almost a little house, very spacious with lots of nice Moroccan style touches. I liked experiencing the natural insulation of real pise."
↓ Susan R. (Berkeley CA, US) on Morocco Tour
"Laura Rudderforth is outstanding. She is interesting, informative, friendly, patient, open to anything & talented. She went out of her way to get to know each & every one of us & respected everyone un-conditionally. She is so organized & so dependable. She just never messes up! She really knows what she is doing at all times. I will really miss her. I liked her a lot."
↓ Wendy A. (Sparta NJ, US) on Greece Tour
"Ondrej Strejcek was unfailingly friendly to each member of the group. His attitude & demeanor is very professional, but at the same time we immediately felt that he was our friend. He is enthusiastic about the countries & cultures that we visited, which set a most positive tone for the entire trip. From our experience of taking many trips, I would say that the single most important factor in the success of a trip is the tour leader ... & we were very fortunate to have Ondrej for this tour. He was faultless."
↓ Nancy E. (CA, US) on Czech Republic, Slovak Republic & Hungary Tour
"The evening meals were excellent with opportunities to try many types of food & to meet many different likes & dislikes. I particularly appreciated the opportunity to try many typical Peruvian foods that had been recommended by my Peruvian friends. The transportation was roomy & comfortable. If you could make the places of interest even closer together, that would be great, but since you cannot shrink the country, the transportation was excellent."
↓ Helena F. (IL, US) on Peru Tour
"My wife Karen & I have TWO upcoming AA trips -- Morocco in November & Australia in February, the latter involving a lot of support planning from Jonathan (for which I am most appreciative).

He has it down pat, knows and deals well with all the drivers and guides, and the way he managed everything proves his knowledge and love of this part of the world. His insights and comments were also very informative. In short, we felt ourselves in very good hands in a part of the world that inexperience might well have been a problem."
