Languages: English; conversational French; improving Spanish, German, Russian, and Laotian. And a decent Scottish accent.
Tours Led: I have led tours in over 60 countries over the last 7 years in all the continents except for Antarctica. Have to work on that one next!
Favourite Destination:Kaieteur Falls in Guyana; the snow-covered mountains of Ladakh, India; camel trekking in the Moroccan Sahara; and sipping tea in the Old Town of Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

Tanzania Rwanda

Features: This wildlife safari and gorilla trek combines some of the best attractions that East Africa has to offer. Tanzania is classic Africa — Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, Maasai homelands and the celebrated game-filled plains of the Serengeti. Combine this with a gorilla trek in Rwanda, offering some of the most breathtaking scenery in Africa and one of the most memorable wildlife encounters on Earth.

Southern Africa

Features: Discover astonishing natural beauty and cultural diversity in some of Africa's most rewarding destinations on a full or partial combination tour of South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. Untold wildlife safari adventures await in the Okavango Delta and Kruger and Chobe National Parks, while the Cape Winelands and Victoria Falls provide the most spectacular of settings.

Laos Myanmar

Features: This tour features our popular core northern Laos tour with a sojourn to the much less-visited southern regions. Here can be found the Angkor Empire ruins of Wat Phou at Champasak (without the throngs of visitors encountered at Cambodia's Angkor Wat), the beautiful Bolaven Plateau and Si Phan Don ("Four Thousand Islands"). Myanmar is a destination in the beginnings of the tourism boom and Laos still runs under many travellers' radars — the time to visit is now!

Tour codes: JHLM

Baltic states, Ukraine, Moldova & Belarus

Features: A series that encompasses six former USSR countries, this eastern expedition includes the rural, UNESCO-designated site of the Curonian Spit and a tour of Belarus, a timeless nation largely beyond the reach of mass tourism and one that has returned to the Adventures Abroad tour roster after seven years. The Ukraine segment sees us visit Lviv, Kyiv, the Crimean Peninsula, Odesa and Chernobyl, and we finish in Moldova, with tours of the capital, Chisinau, and exploration of nearby monasteries and wineries.
